Dennis Quaid concert raises money for Bellaire first responders

Dennis Quaid made a homecoming trip to Bellaire to shake, rattle and roll the hamlet out of its post-Harvey funk. He helped the community raise $100,000 for first responders with his concert at the town pavilion, billed as the Bellaire Brave block party.

Bellaire native actor/singer Dennis Quaid returned to his roots this weekend for the Harvey relief concert Bellaire Block Party. He toured the neighborhood where he grew up, including Horn Elementary School and the Evergreen Pool, and then headed to Bellaire Town Square for an energy-filled concert with his band The Sharks on Saturday.

Actor-musician Dennis Quaid appeared Friday night at a meet-and-greet at the home of Mayor Andrew Friedberg and his wife, Jennifer, to catch up with old friends, hear tales of Hurricane Harvey, and share his idyllic memories of a childhood on Maple Street.
